Detection of the absolute rotation has significant importance in the fundamental physics for verifying the theories of gravitation, and in the practical applications for designing accurate navigation systems. Measuring the rotation induced pseudo force effects and Sagnac effect are the two most prominent methods for designing accurate and sensitive absolute rotation sensors. I discuss the application of optomechanical systems and non-classical light for detection of the Coriolis force and thus the absolute rotation. Application of hybrid atom-mechanical system, by using electromagnetically induced transparency, for rotation detection will be discussed.

Sankar Davuluri did master's with specialization in laser physics and quantum optics at Hyderabad Central University in 2008. In 2013, Sankar Davuluri got Ph. D from University of North Texas in theoretical quantum optics. From 2014-March, Sankar Davuluri has been working as a postdoctoral fellow at Beijing Computational Science Research Center. From last, 2.5 years he is studying the potential application of optomechanics and hybrid atom-mechanical systems for absolute rotation detection.
