摘要 (Abstract):
I shall discuss a number of new directions in cold atom research based on the current technological advances. These new directions include mapping out directly the many-body wavefunction of lattice quantum gases, the engineering of dynamical gauge fields, and the demonstration of non-abelian exchanges in topological quantum systems. These new efforts, if successive, will have a strong impact on many different areas in physics. I shall discuss the basic idea of these studies and how they capitalize on the current technological developments.
