摘要 (Abstract):
I will talk about the use of the large D expansion method in Gauss-Bonnet (GB) gravity. Firstly, I will review the basic features of gravity in the limit of large dimensions. Then I will show that at large D the quasinormal modes (QNMs) of GB black hole split into two classes: non-decoupled ones and decoupled ones. For the latter, a large D effective theory is expected. Using the large D effective theory we can construct various black objects in GB gravity, including black string and back ring, furthermore study their dynamics perturbatively to find the QNMs or determine numerically the end points of their evolutions under the unstable perturbations.

李鹏程,北京大学物理学院博士生。2009-2013就读于兰州大学物理学院,2013至今在北京大学物理学院攻读理论物理博士学位。研究兴趣为黑洞、AdS/CFT、引力波等。
