摘要 (Abstract): 

     The availability of photon states with well-defined temporal modes and high efficiency is crucial in many protocols of optical quantum information processing. In this presentation, I will discuss a technique by using the method of quantum interference with a well-controlled spectral phase shift, to achieve versatile and precise engineering of photon states with high modal purity, high collection efficiency and high brightness. Our study provides a new approach in the generation of high quality photon states for quantum information processing.

主讲人简介 (Speaker's CV): 

Z. Y. Ou obtained his B.S. from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 1984 and his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester, New York, in 1990 and has subsequently worked at the California Institute of Technology as a Research Associate. He is now a professor in the Department of Physics at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Dr. Ou’s research interests are quantum interferometry and metrology, quantum state conversion between atom and light, and quantum amplification. Dr. Ou served as a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of the European Optical Society Part B and Chinese Physics Letters. He is a fellow of both American Physical Society and Optical Society of America. Education: •1990 Ph.D. Physics, University of Rochester. •1986 M.A. Physics, University of Rochester. •1984 B.S.
