摘要 (Abstract):

The electric dipole moment (EDM) is a very sensitive experimental probe of new physics beyond the standard model, and it is very actively studied in experiments. However, systems for which the EDM is easily measurable are mostly composite, such as the neutrons and atoms, and nonperturbative effects of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) are often making the analysis of elementary level CP violation difficult. In this talk, we first summarize the leading contribution of the CP violation of new physics. We then review the current status of the attempt to quantify the hadronic contribution to the EDM of composite systems.

主讲人简介 (Speaker's CV):

Dr. Nodoka Yamanaka is an assistant Professor at Kobayashi-Maskawa Institute, Nagoya University now. He got the Ph.D. in 2012 at Osaka University. Later, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at several institutions, including the Research Center for Nuclear Physics, Osaka University, Kyoto University and Riken in Japan,  and Institut de Physique Nucleaire Orsay in France, and University of Massachusetts Amherst and Kennesaw State University in the USA. His research interest is broad and has expertise in the calculations of electric dipole moments in particle and nuclear physics.
