摘要 (Abstract): 

Jets produced at initial hard scattering in heavy ion collision events lose energy due to interactions with the color-deconfined medium formed around them. There are different models taking different assumptions to describe the energy loss of energetic partons in the medium. A fair, direct comparison of different energy-loss models require that all other aspects of the simulation to be fixed, which is achieved by the JETSCAPE framework. In this work, we employ such a framework to fairly and comprehensively compare two successful energy loss models: CUJET and MARTINI. We compare the models using measurements of jet spectra and substructure observables. We observe systematic differences in fragmentation functions. We further compare the model predictions of jet-medium photons, thru both conversion and bremsstrahlung processes. We found sizable difference between predictions from the two models.  We propose to use the photons an independent probe to discriminate different jet energy-loss models.

施舒哲,现为美国纽约大学石溪分校(State University of New York at Stony Brook,又名石溪大学Stony Brook University)博士后。分别于清华大学和美国印第安纳大学(Indiana University)获得硕士和博士学位。其后于加拿大麦吉尔大学(McGill University)从事博士后研究。研究兴趣涉及重离子对撞中多个方向,包括手征磁效应、喷注淬火、自旋极化等现象。
