摘要 (Abstract): 

Most authors have been drawn to photonic crystals in recent years because of their potential uses. Based on the distinctive characteristics of photonic crystals, also known as the photonic band gap, we have investigated a wide range of photonic crystal-based applications, including biosensors, filters, smart windows, desalination, salinity, and many more. In this talk we will review photonic crystal's properties, as well the interesting applications, especially on health and energy.

主讲人简介 (Speaker's CV): 

rafa Aly教授获得开罗大学物理学博士学位后，先后在韩国首尔国立大学、意大利国际理论物理中心等地做博士后，访问韩国全南国立大学、西班牙Zaragoza大学。1995年受聘于开罗大学Beni-Suef校区（后独立为Beni-Suef大学），2013-2020年担任Beni-Suef大学物理系系主任。目前担任埃及材料学会主席，Beni-Suef大学健康科学与技术研究所所长。
