摘要 (Abstract): 

Gauss-Bonnet gravity is a natural generalization of general relativity which includes higher order curvature terms and obeys Lovelock’s theorem. However, unlike Einstein equations, the gravitational equations in Gauss-Bonnet gravity are not quasi-linear any more. A lot of differences arise due to this point.
In this talk, l will discuss the exact solutions in this theory and the construction of general gauge invariant perturbation theory. Based on these, l will discuss the dynamical stability and the quasi-normal modes (QNMs) spectral stability of the black holes in this theory. Finally, the QNMs spectral stability and the effect of environment will be discussed.

主讲人简介 (Speaker's CV): 

曹利明，中国科学技术大学物理学院教授，2001年获兰州大学物理学学士学位。2008年在中国科学院理论物理研究所获博士学位。2008年-2009年在韩国亚太理论物理研究中心从事博士后研究工作。2009年-2011年受日本学术振兴会资助在近畿大学从事博士后研究工作。2011年12月加入中国科学技术大学物理学院。主要从事引力理论和黑洞物理研究。研究领域包括:黑洞热力学和时空几何性质;引力全息性质;引力微扰理论和引力辐射等等;目前在国内外期刊发表论文50余篇，引用3000余次。
