Abstract:
The report is divided into five parts, namely, a century - long review of basic sciences, several enlightenments from American science and technology, China has become a major country in science and technology, new situations and new challenges, basic research and major science and technology programs. It reviews the development of science and technology in the modern century, including basic sciences and several technological revolutions, analyzes the development history and main characteristics of American science and technology, and summarizes the enlightenments for us. It also provides detailed data and analysis on China's becoming a major country in the world in science and technology. The current new situations and challenges are introduced, including the suppression and containment by the US and Europe, several aspects where China's science and technology are restricted by others, and global climate change, etc. Finally, it introduces the new policies of national basic research and science and technology R & D programs, and studies General Secretary's speech at the National Science and Technology Award Conference and the specific requirements for becoming a powerful country in science and technology.
Speaker's CV :
Comrade Peng Yiqi has been engaged in the management of basic research in the Ministry of Science and Technology for a long time. He once presided over the work of the Department of Basic Research, and was engaged in the management of the National Key Basic Research and Development Program (973 Program), major international cooperation programs (such as ITER), and the management of national key laboratories. He is familiar with and understands basic research policies, the construction of major scientific facilities, basic work, and scientific and technological book and literature services.
