Introduction to the Team of TianQin Center
The TianQin Project is a space gravitational wave detection plan proposed by Academician Luo Jun. Its goal is to deploy three identical satellites in an equilateral triangle constellation with a side length of approximately 170,000 kilometers in an Earth orbit about 100,000 kilometers high around 2035, and to establish a space gravitational wave observatory, thus opening the gravitational wave detection window in the frequency band of 0.1mHz to 1Hz. Following the technical roadmap of the "0123 Plan", the TianQin Project adheres to the principle of implementing it step by step and advancing in an orderly manner, steadily promoting the progress of key technologies, extensively conducting international cooperation, and striving to achieve the goal of independently carrying out space gravitational wave detection in China as soon as possible, and conducting cutting-edge research in astronomy and physics. Since its launch, the TianQin Project has received strong support from various aspects. The laser ranging station of the TianQin Project successfully achieved ranging to all 5 laser ranging reflectors on the moon for the first time in China by the end of 2019. The "TianQin-1" technical test satellite was launched on December 20, 2019, and successfully verified six key technologies for space gravitational wave detection in orbit. It improved the index of the inertial sensor by approximately two orders of magnitude and, for the first time in China, verified the integrated optical platform based on alkaline catalytic bonding technology in orbit. Sun Yat-sen University established the TianQin Center in April 2016, which is specifically responsible for all aspects of research work related to the TianQin Project. As of December 2021, there were a total of 337 faculty and students in the TianQin Center, including 16 professors, 18 associate professors, 1 assistant professor, 7 full-time researchers, 9 post-doctoral fellows, 8 technical engineers, and 13 administrative staff (including 2 academicians, 2 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and 1 recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars); 104 doctoral students and 161 master's students. Since its establishment in 2016, the TianQin Center has trained 4 doctoral students and 58 master's students. Currently, the TianQin Center is undertaking the construction of national-level major platforms such as the TianQin Frontier Science Center of the Ministry of Education and the Gravitational Wave Research Center of the China National Space Administration.
